Privacy Policy
Effective: April 16, 2015

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, protected and disclosed by WhizKidz Computer Center Inc. ("WhizKidz"), with respect to your access and use of our services at https://whizkidzcc.com/ ("Website").

COLLECTING INFORMATION

Personally Identifiable Information ("PII"), as used in U.S. privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. No PII is collected when you only peruse the Website. The Website collects information about you when you create an account and enroll your family members in our classes and programs. This is beneficial so you have one place that tracks all of the registered programs. You will have access to all of your family members' projects that they have created and can even optionally share this online with others.

PROTECTING INFORMATION

Our entire Website runs over HTTPS using an SSL certificate verified by GoDaddy.com with their seal shown on our web pages. This means all data transferred between your browser and our server is secured and encrypted.

Your account password is not stored. Instead, only the hash of the password is stored using the SHA-2 algorithm designed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). What this means is that it uses a one-way encryption and saves the result of that value instead. If the Website is compromised and someone gets ahold of the password database, your password may be still safe although you should change it to be absolutely sure if you are notified of such a breach. Having a password that is at least 8 characters long with a mix of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and non-alphanumeric characters provides the best security.

Credit card and sensitive payment information are stored on Authorize.Net's secure server, the leading provider in accepting and processing credit card payments. WhizKidz complies with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard since credit card information is never stored on our Website. Your credit card number is never shown on this web site after the order is processed unless you choose to remember the credit card information, in which case it will only show the last four digits.

USE OF COOKIES

Cookies are small files that are created when a web site sends information to your web browser to capture and remember certain information such as items in your shopping cart. The Website only stores this information for the session and is removed when you log out. The Website requires cookies to be enabled, at least for our web site, or certain functions as mentioned will not work properly. There will be a notification on the web page if it detects that cookies are disabled.

DISCLOSING INFORMATION

WhizKidz will not sell, trade or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information unless you consent to doing so.

CALIFORNIA ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT

The California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA") is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law's reach stretches well beyond California to require a person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared, and to comply with this policy.

This Website complies with CalOPPA in making it easy to find the Privacy Policy page, providing notice when the Privacy Policy changes and allowing you to change personal information on the Website. WhizKidz does not allow third party behaviorial tracking.

CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") applies to online collection of personal information from children under 13. The new rules spell out what a Web site operator must include in a privacy policy, when and how to seek verifiable consent from a parent and what responsibilities an operator has to protect children's privacy and safety online.

This Website complies with COPPA. An account must be someone who is 13 years of age or older. See our Terms & Conditions for more information on Account Terms. It is the parent or guardian who then provides information about family members who may be under 13, in order to enroll them into our classes and programs. Email or call us to delete your account and family member information.

FAIR INFORMATION PRACTICES PRINCIPLES

The Fair Information Practices ("FIPPs") are the widely accepted framework of defining principles to be used in the evaluation and consideration of systems, processes, or programs that affect individual privacy.

In order to align with FIPPs, WhizKidz will notify the users via email or site notification within 7 business days should a data breach occurs. WhizKidz also agrees to the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law.

CAN-SPAM ACT

The CAN-SPAM Act sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have you stop emailing them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

This Website complies with the CAN-SPAM Act. We only send emails pertaining to our classes and programs and even then, you can opt out on those emails, although it is not recommended.
